Schedule: Saturday / Sunday / Monday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Department: Diagnostic Imaging
Reports To: Imaging Manager / Radiology Director
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, handles and administers radiopharmaceuticals, and ensures radiation safety. The technologist prepares examinations for interpretation and assists in maintaining department supplies and workflow.
All duties are performed in accordance with FMC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health or Nuclear Medicine Technology from an AMA-approved school or an equivalent program meeting registry-eligibility requirements.
Licensure / Certification:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Maintains licensure with the State of Ohio.
- Maintains current CPR certification and When Seconds Count certification.
Experience:
- Minimum two years experience in a diagnostic imaging setting preferred.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs and documents all nuclear medicine procedures upon order of an approved healthcare provider.
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction or per approved protocol.
- Operates nuclear medicine cameras, computers, and all related equipment.
- Analyzes images for quality control and ensures exam accuracy.
- Prepares completed examinations for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Ensures appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication with the next caregiver.
- Transports, moves, and positions patients safely and appropriately.
- Participates in quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Assists in maintaining supplies, inventory, and a clean, safe work environment.
Physical Demands
Sedentary Work:
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Involves mostly sitting, with occasional walking or standing for brief periods.
