Position: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Facility Type: Rural Critical Access Hospital
Department: LDRP Unit
Shift Options:

• Nights, 3x12s (18:00–06:30)
• Nights, 4x12s (18:00–06:30)
  Start Date: December 1, 2025
  Contract Length: 8 or 13 weeks (both accepted)
  Guaranteed Hours: Based on signed contract
  Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW), 7 ON / 7 OFF block scheduling allowed
  No Call Required
  Float: Task floating required within facility or affiliate per Joint Commission standards
  EMR: Cerner (required experience)
  License: Active NM or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
  Locals: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: LDRP – combined Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum
• Beds/Rooms:
  • 4 regular LDRP rooms
  • 1 triage room
  • 1 well-baby nursery
• Patient Population: Neonates, laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Average Staffing: 1:1 patient ratio during active labor
• Support: OB department staffed 24/7 with two Family Practice physicians and one OB/GYN
• Equipment: State-of-the-art ventilators, bilirubin lights, infant warmers, and perinatal monitoring technology

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience (Charge experience a plus)
• Must be comfortable in small/rural hospital settings (cross-trained and independent practice)

Certifications (Required):

• BLS – American Heart Association
• ACLS – American Heart Association
• NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced and STABLE preferred but not required)

Charting Experience:

• Cerner proficiency required (facility transitioned in 2022)

• RTO: Must be submitted with initial application; no holiday RTO will be approved.
• Flu/COVID Requirements: TBD (status not specified).
• Return Staff Policy: Previous travelers accepted; current perm staff require facility approval.
• References: Two recent professional references required (within 2 years).
• Background: Any hits reviewed by facility for approval.
• Orientation: Included in first week of assignment.
