Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Monitor Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) and contractions, assessing fetal wellbeing and labor progress.
- Administer medications and anesthesia as ordered, and assist with obstetric procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of patient progress and interventions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and assist in cesarean sections or other procedures as needed.
- Adhere to hospital protocols for infection control, patient safety, and data confidentiality.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years current Labor & Delivery experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); copies must be uploaded at profile submission.
- Strong proficiency with Meditech Expanse (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, with scheduled rotations.
- Must include current work history, skills checklist (within the past year), and a signed supervisory reference from the past two years.
- COVID-19 vaccination required (dose administered on or after 10/3/23) or approved exemption with documentation.
- Willingness to wear a mask at all times while on-site if approved for exemption.
- Clear communication of requested time off at submission; no RTO requests after offer will be accepted.
Additional Details:
- Holiday coverage requires working two of the specified holidays and weekends. Requests for time off during the assignment must be limited to no more than 3 days, and should be indicated at time of submission.
