Job Summary – Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Shift: Nights | 3x12-hour shifts

Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care by developing and following individualized nursing care plans. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, and promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in accordance with Select Medical’s Core Values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify and address patient and family teaching needs, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve care goals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with policy.
• Participate actively in rehabilitation programs and patient education to support recovery and discharge planning.
• Maintain communication with the care team to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff effectively, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
• Promote and model Select Medical’s “10 Foot Circle of Safety” by adhering to policies on safe patient handling, infection control, and environmental safety.
• Serve as Charge Nurse as assigned and support team-building efforts to foster a positive, efficient workplace.
• Monitor use of supplies and resources to ensure cost-effective care delivery.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• BLS Certification – Required
• ACLS Certification – Required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience – Highly desired.

Guaranteed Hours: As per contract (3x12-hour schedule).
