Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, and plays a key role in promoting patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify educational needs and care goals.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in the rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to deliver direct care and patient education.
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and ensure smooth care transitions.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and charge nurses to maintain continuity and safety of care.
- Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff while fostering teamwork and efficiency.
- Maintain a safe and compliant environment, adhering to hospital policies on infection control, equipment use, and workplace safety.
- Contribute to team morale, resource management, and cost-effective care delivery.
- Assume charge nurse duties when assigned and pursue ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required prior to first shift
- ACLS certification required (CIRH only)
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience strongly preferred
